19th Annual Cyprus Summit Cyprus’s new roadmap and strategy for sustainable balance

Geopolitical turmoil, the ongoing war in Ukraine, the aftermath of health, energy and supply-chain crises, high inflation and high interest rates: the global scene is dominated by uncertainty and unpredictability. On the other hand, there is much discussion on accelerating the green transition, tapping into the opportunities that arise from tech disruption and strengthening Europe’s unity and solidarity in face of new challenges for collective security and democracy.

Without a doubt, the eastern Mediterranean region and Cyprus in particular, has a pivotal role to play in these developments both due to its strategic position and its importance for Europe’s energy security. In contrast to a legacy of conflicts and fragmentation, new partnerships are now offering hope for lasting peace and inclusive growth in the region.

  • What are Europe’s strong and weak points in the turbulent global environment?
    ● Which reforms has the new Cypriot government prioritised?
    ● Can competitiveness and social justice go hand in hand?
    ● Is there optimism for a viable solution of the Cyprus problem in the near future?

All these questions and more shall be addressed at this year’s Economist 19th Annual Cyprus Summit entitled “CYPRUS’S NEW ROADMAP AND STRATEGY FOR SUSTAINABLE BALANCE: Geopolitics ● Innovation ● Growth” scheduled to take place on November 7th-8th in at the Hilton, Nicosia.
