Serves the industry with 36 years of ship management experience, the last 15 years in senior positions. Ex-Member of INTERTANKO Executive Committee band presently Chairman of Hellenic-Med Panel Member of the Classification Societies Greek Committee; DNV, NK, ABS and BV Fellow Member of ICS (Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers) Ex-Vice President of Propeller Club of Piraeus. He was born and raised in Athens. He holds a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Athens, a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Piraeus, a MSc in Management Science from the Imperial College. Mrs. Stela Spiraj
Senior Regulatory Affairs Engineer, ABS
Stela Spiraj is the ABS representative to the IACS Safety Panel, and these days she works as a Senior Regulatory Affairs Engineer responsible for managing ABS’s interaction with IACS and Flag Administrations and keeping ABS and its clients informed about evolving regulatory issues.
Previous experience with well-known ship owners like Angelicoussis Shipping Group and Schulte Group equips Stela with the ability to comprehend shipowners’ needs and foster efficient communication in order to navigate complex regulatory challenges. Additionally, Stela ensures compliance with ABS rules, as well as international, regional, and national regulations, thereby upholding a high standard of regulatory awareness within the industry.
Stela holds a Master of Engineering in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and was a co-founder of the research group Oceanos, which represents NTUA in international competitions dedicated to naval energy efficiency.
Efthymios-Evangelos Pappas
Deputy Manager – Environmental & Compliance Department, Bureau Veritas (Hellas)
Efthymios-Evangelos Pappas is a proficient Naval Architect and Marine Engineer, with an integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the National Technical University of Athens. His distinctive expertise in the marine industry encompasses monitoring of CO2 emissions and conducting maritime systems audits. Currently, he is enhancing his technical skills as an M.Sc. student in Informatics at the University of Piraeus. He holds the position of deputy manager in the environmental and compliance department at Bureau Veritas Hellas M.A.E . Additionally, Efthymios has contributed academically with a publication in the prestigious 6th International Symposium on Ship Operations, Management, and Economics
Eleftherios Kaklamanis
Head of Fleet Performance Management, EURONAV Shipmanagement Hellas
Eleftherios Kaklamanis serves as the Head of Fleet Performance Management at EURONAV Shipmanagement Hellas, spearheading initiatives to optimize operational efficiency and leading the planning and assessment of the Decarbonization Strategy for the Group.
With a distinguished educational background, Eleftherios holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a Master of Engineering in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from NTUA. Prior to assuming his current leadership role, Eleftherios made significant contributions to the field as a Research Affiliate at MIT. His diverse experience in the maritime industry includes a pivotal role as an Environmental and Performance Analyst in a leading Greek Containership Company, where he refined his expertise in sustainable practices and vessel performance.
Eleftherios Kaklamanis is recognized for his strategic leadership, blending academic acumen with practical industry insights to drive sustainable and efficient operations in the maritime sector.
