The Astilleros Armon shipyard has delivered to Liberty Lines the new Vittorio Morace, the first hybrid high-speed craft in the world. We classed the vessel and followed the project from the design approval process to the construction supervision.
Equipped with Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG‘s engines powered by both conventional and electric propulsion, this innovative HSC is able to cruise at up to 10 knots in full electric mode and to recharge batteries while sailing.
For its outstanding environmental performance, we also assigned the Green Plus class notation to the Vittorio Morace. It recognises that the vessel reaches high levels of sustainability thanks to the innovative engineering solutions put in place during its design and construction to reduce the environmental footprint during operations.
