The second Marine Insurance Greece Conference recently took place in Athens, and WISTA Hellas was proudly represented by numerous members. It was a pleasure to see speakers and moderators from our community actively contributing to the event’s success.
While several WISTA Hellas members had already been invited to speak, we are especially pleased that, following a recommendation from our member Sara Jones, the organizers reached out through our association to offer additional speaker and moderator slots. This allowed for broader participation from our membership and ensured more balanced and inclusive representation throughout the program.
We sincerely thank the organizers for their collaboration and commitment to diversity, and for recognizing the value that WISTA Hellas members bring to the marine insurance dialogue.
The conference covered a range of timely and thought-provoking topics. In her opening address, the WISTA Hellas President emphasized the need for a balanced environment in the marine insurance industry—one where tradition embraces diversity and inclusion, and technology is leveraged effectively as a tool to achieve our goals. She also spoke passionately about the importance of the human element in our sector, advocating for the value of mentoring and shared culture that thrives within an office environment—something that is often challenged by the shift toward remote work.
WISTA Hellas remains committed to fostering these values and driving meaningful conversations that shape a more inclusive, connected, and resilient maritime industry.
