Incident: Ukrainian forces carried out consecutive UAV attacks on Russia’s Ust-Luga port, with the first major attack occurring overnight on March 25–26, 2026, causing extensive fires at Novatek oil facilities and suspending operations. A second wave followed on the evening/night of March 26, triggering fresh explosions and fires in the same port and industrial area.
Guidance: Conflict: Prior to entering conflict region, rig firefighting equipment and brief the crew, practicing emergency drills. Whilst in a conflict region, maintain communication with local military, law enforcement or international mission to remain informed on current developments. Confirm berthing prospect and port safety prior to arrival via local agent. Minimize crew on weather decks or in machinery spaces, moving them to sheltered positions above the waterline with quick access to the upper deck.
