INTERCARGO launches survey on port and terminal operations and shipboard safety

INTERCARGO is inviting members to participate in a short survey to understand whether bulk carriers are experiencing difficulties in carrying out essential safety activities while alongside or at anchorage.

These activities include mandatory safety drills, safety-related maintenance, hull cleaning, crew shore access and other essential operations.

While ships must maintain safety readiness at all times, opportunities to carry out these activities can be limited during port calls or at anchorage.

The survey aims to establish how widespread these challenges are across the dry bulk fleet and whether further evidence gathering or engagement with ports and terminals is needed.

All responses will be analysed on an aggregated and anonymised basis.

Members can login to complete the survey.
