V.Group and VesselMan establish partnership for enhanced technical project management

V.Group and VesselMan have set up a partnership to improve dry-docking operations using VesselMan’s process and project management platform. This collaboration includes the planning and execution of various generic dry-docking tasks and, in the near future, will extend to an integration with V.Group’s ShipSure platform.

V.Group operates through a network of 12 ship management offices, supported by its Group Dry Dock team based in Glasgow. With a workforce of 600 colleagues dedicated to ship technical services, risk management, procurement, and financial services across sectors including tanker, bulker, container, offshore, and leisure, V.Ships stands as a leading entity in the industry.

“We are honored to have been selected as the preferred partner for technical projects by V.Group. A collaboration with a Ship Management company of V.’s stature is a great accomplishment for us at VesselMan – not only due to their company size and fleet but also their proactive approach toward evolving into a more forward-thinking Ship Management entity. Their commitment to providing clients with enhanced control and transparency in their operations is truly inspiring and sets a unique precedent in the industry. This collaboration underlines our platform’s ability to comprehend diverse needs, address complexities, as well as confirms that we provide a user-friendly interface. It highlights our team’s alignment with VesselMan’s ambitions and underscores the platform’s value and benefits for users,” stated Lene Normann Olsen, Chief Commercial Officer at VesselMan.

“In 2022, we critically evaluated our internal dry-docking procedures and identified a need to look more closely at how we operate our dry-docking, specifically prioritising efficient time management. Establishing a standardised ‘best practice’ process applicable across our fleet and client base was imperative. VesselMan demonstrated a strong commitment and served as an invaluable partner in challenging our current methodologies as well as recognising potential opportunities,” remarked Karol Prorok, Global Head of Technical at V.Group.

Nikos Patestos, Project Manager, Docking Function, added, “Our aim is to significantly reduce preparation time and operational costs. We recognise the importance of data extraction and analysis to facilitate smarter working practices. The transformation of the drydocking customer journey from a manual to a digital environment is imperative. In this pursuit, our collaboration with VesselMan is strategic and aligned with our objectives.”
