Despite these challenges, the maritime industry is rapidly embracing digital technologies. The IMO’s ambitious 2050 emissions reduction target demands bold action, and we believe technology will play a critical role in achieving this goal. The industry is already embracing cleaner options and pioneering technologies. At the same time, optimizing routes and vessel design offers immediate efficiency gains. To fully realize this vision, there will need to be substantial investment in research, technology, and infrastructure as well as strong industry-wide collaboration.
