TMS is hiring!!

TMS is looking to hire an Insurance Officer who will be involved with various aspects of Marine Insurance, including Hull & Machinery (H&M), Protection & Indemnity (P&I), War Risks, as well as claims handling and other areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain lists of premiums and additional premiums; monitor invoices, debit/credit notes, and payment status (War Risks, LOH War and Detention, K&R, H&M, IV, ACR, P&I, FD&D)
• Declare breaches, trading changes, and vessel updates to insurers as required
• Handle and monitor insurance claims related to H&M, P&I, and other incidents
• Liaise with ship managers, crew, surveyors, legal counsel, P&I Clubs, and insurance brokers to ensure timely and fair claims resolution
• Conduct sanctions checks on vessels, owners, and trades
• Maintain relationships with P&I Clubs, insurance brokers, underwriters, legal counsel, and external service providers

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the Insurance Department of a ship management company, a P&I Club or a Marine Insurance Brokers house
• Bachelor degree in any discipline, while a post graduate degree in Maritime Studies or relevant professional qualification will be a strong advantage
• Fluency in English, orally and in writing
• IT literate, particularly with MS Office
• Strong negotiation skills as well as the ability to build relationships with brokers and underwriters
