EMSA: 760 injuries per year occur, on average on board ships

VANOS   Safety declared:

According to the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), between 2014 and 2023, there were 7,604 injuries resulting from 6,623 marine casualties and incidents. This corresponds to an annual average of 760 injuries, with the lowest number registered in 2020, at 606.

These figures highlight the continuous need for proper training, modern equipment, and constant vigilance to prevent accidents and fatalities. The mental and physical well-being of the crew onboard is just as vital as technical readiness.

Behind every vessel, along with every cargo, and throughout every journey, there are lives that matter. It is crucial to provide safe working environments that protect crews and ensure smooth operations.
