Please forgive the blur – we were racing through the halls to wish you all a hearty “Moin, Maritime!” on the opening day of SMM Hamburg 2026.
A terrific first day with the highlight being of course the launch of the new Maritime Forecast to 2050, which turns 10 this year. Our speakers and panelists, including Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen who spoke with Arsenio Dominguez, Cristina Saenz de Santa Maria, and new lead author Øyvind Sekkesæter, were greeted by a full house with standing room at the back.

As with every trade fair and every SMM especially, the best thing is welcoming customers and celebrating successes with them. Today, we were joined by SMDERI who were awarded an Approval in Principle (AiP) for their methane slip treatment system – a very important part of shipping’s drive towards a more sustainable future. Additionally, our colleagues from Veracity by DNV welcomed a new data partner – Gasum.
As if that wasn’t enough, we returned with the 2nd Cybersecurity Maritime Summit, and capped the day with the first of our expert talks and the Veracity happy hour.

Όπως συμβαίνει με κάθε εμπορική έκθεση και ειδικά με κάθε SMM, το καλύτερο είναι να καλωσορίζουμε τους πελάτες και να γιορτάζουμε τις επιτυχίες μαζί τους. Σήμερα, συναντηθήκαμε με την SMDERI, η οποία έλαβε την Έγκριση Κατ’ Αρχήν (AiP) για το σύστημα επεξεργασίας μεθανίου που διαθέτει – ένα πολύ σημαντικό μέρος της προσπάθειας της ναυτιλίας προς ένα πιο βιώσιμο μέλλον. Επιπλέον, οι συνάδελφοί μας από την Veracity by DNV καλωσόρισαν έναν νέο συνεργάτη δεδομένων – την Gasum.
