Αναμνηστική Μπλε Πλακέτα στους Ρόμπερτ και Τζόζεφ ΜακΓκρέγκορ την εφεύρεσή τους

We were incredibly proud to host the unveiling of a commemorative Blue Plaque on June 21st, honoring brothers Robert and Joseph MacGregor! This plaque recognises their invention of the steel hatch cover and the founding of MacGregor and Co. Naval Architects in 1937, a significant moment for Jarrow’s shipbuilding heritage.

A huge thank you to Jarrow town Mayor, Cllr Jay Potts, and Mayoress Cllr Audrey Huntley, for the official unveiling. We were also honored to have Danny Lynch, Director of Communications at the Irish Football Association, deliver a moving speech about the brothers’ worldwide legacy.

Special appreciation goes to Tom Lynch, whose dedication brought this tribute to life. The North Tyneside Pipe Band, thanks to David Beavers, also made the event truly memorable.

It was wonderful to see past and present MacGregor employees and members of the shipping community sharing stories. Thank you to everyone who attended this meaningful occasion! The legacy of Robert and Joseph MacGregor will inspire generations to come as we continue to build on their groundbreaking work.

Ήμασταν απίστευτα περήφανοι που φιλοξενήσαμε τα αποκαλυπτήρια μιας αναμνηστικής Μπλε Πλάκας στις 21 Ιουνίου, προς τιμήν των αδελφών Ρόμπερτ και Τζόζεφ ΜακΓκρέγκορ! Αυτή η πλάκα αναγνωρίζει την εφεύρεσή τους, του χαλύβδινου καλύμματος της καταπακτής, και την ίδρυση της MacGregor and Co. Naval Architects το 1937, μια σημαντική στιγμή για την ναυπηγική κληρονομιά του Τζάροου.
