From 1 September to 30 November 2025, the Tokyo and Paris MoUs will conduct a joint Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) focusing on Ballast Water Management (BWM).
This campaign aims to verify compliance with the BWM Convention, 2004, and will include checks on:
✅Valid BWM certificates

✅ Crew familiarisation and implementation
✅ Approved and operational BWM systems
✅ Accurate Ballast Water Record Book entries
✅ Sediment management practices
✅ Valid exemptions, if applicable
Each ship will be subject to one CIC inspection during the campaign period.
Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) urges all operators of Palau-flagged vessels to ensure that:
🔹 All ballast water treatment systems are fully functional
🔹 Ballast Water Record Books are properly maintained and signed by the Master or Chief Officer
