ℹ️ More:
Over the last decade, the global port system and its governance models have evolved in a period characterised by structural disruptions, crises and pressures for systemic transformation.
The year 2027 will mark the anniversaries of the publications of two special volumes. Devolution, Port Governance and Port Performance, Volume 17, in the Elsevier book series/journal entitled Research in Transportation Economics (2006) , and of Revisiting Port Governance and Port Reform in Research in Transportation Business and Management (RTBM, Vol 22, 2017).
Today, both volumes are key references for research on port devolution, governance, and performance, and are widely cited as core references in the field. Since then, no single volume in the literature has tracked changes in port governance across all regions of the world.
The 10th anniversary of the latter publication provides a highly appropriate time for reflection and revisiting developments.
This Special Issue does just this.
ℹ️ ECONSHIP 2026 – the European Conference on Shipping, Intermodalism & Ports (Chios, Greece 23-26 Sept 2026) – offers an opportunity to discuss the content and potential contributions to the SI. – more: www.econship.org
