From Data to Decisions: Proven Practices in Fleet Performance Management
This session explores how Vessel Performance Solutions’ VESPER software transforms vessel data into actionable insights that drive fuel savings, CO₂ reduction, and regulatory compliance. As part of the GTT Group, Vessel Performance Solutions works alongside its sister company, Ascenz Marorka to provide an integrated suite of digital services. By combining data analytics with hydrodynamic ship modeling, the system enhances the accuracy of performance assessments — particularly for hull and propeller efficiency — supporting effective decision-making across operations.
High-frequency sensor data further improves the precision of performance tracking, and empowers decision makers to make faster, smarter, data-driven decisions. A fleet performance management system also quantifies and verifies the benefits of energy efficiency retrofits—such as hull coatings, propeller upgrades, and engine optimizations — ensuring measurable returns on investment.
The commercial advantages of performance monitoring against charter party agreements are also highlighted. Optimized vessel efficiency and reduced fuel consumption increase profitability through better performance-based contracts and avoidance of penalties, providing a competitive market edge. Attendees will gain insights into implementing a data-driven fleet performance strategy, best practices for ensuring data quality and consistency, and an understanding of how digital tools create business value by linking technical performance to environmental and commercial outcomes.
