Delighted to be part of another excellent #WorldMaritimeDay event 
Earlier this week, WISTA International President, Elpi Petraki, joined the International Maritime Organization – IMO World Maritime Day Parallel Event in Dubai which celebrated the industry’s efforts to protect our oceans. Organised by The Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure in cooperation with IMO, the event included several high-level panel discussions that focused on this year’s theme – Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity.
Ensuring there is capacity within the industry to make the most of opportunities arising, Elpi joined a panel discussion on fostering growth and development to support sustainable oceans. To do this we must invest in the next generation, enhance maritime education and create an environment where everyone can thrive. By working together we can simultaneously save our oceans and the future of the maritime industry.
Prior to this, Elpi attended the Energy Aspects Conference 2025 in London and Women in Commodities breakfast, where leaders within the energy sector provided compelling insights into what lies ahead. Thank you Amrita Sen and Laura Cross for the invitation to join.
