Key Deadlines & Compliance Actions
EU MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification)
February 28, 2025 – Submit emissions reports to an accredited verifier.
March 31, 2025 – Complete verification and submission of reports in the THETIS-MRV system.
EU ETS (Emissions Trading System) Company Emissions Report
March 31, 2025 – Submit the verified Company Emissions Report.
September 30, 2025 – Surrender EU ETS allowances equivalent to verified emissions.
Union Registry Emissions Data Registration
April 1, 2025 – Enter the previous year’s emissions data into the Union Registry.
FuelEU Maritime Compliance
January 1, 2025 – Ensure all vessels have an approved FuelEU Maritime Monitoring Plan on board.
January 31, 2026 – Submit FuelEU report to an accredited verifier
IMO DCS (Data Collection System) Fuel Oil Consumption Reporting
March 31, 2025 – Submit fuel consumption data to the verifier.
May 31, 2025 – Submit verified fuel consumption data.
SEEMP (Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan) Part II & III
August 1, 2025 – MARPOL Annex VI Appendix IX amendments take effect.
January 1, 2026 – New IMO DCS reporting requirements and SEEMP Part III compliance for the 2026-2028 period; companies should initiate preparatory actions in 2025.
