Did you know what LDBF means?
LDBF stands for Line Design Break Force.
It is the minimum breaking strength of a mooring line, as defined by OCIMF’s “Mooring Equipment Guidelines” (MEG4). LDBF represents the spliced breaking strength of the mooring line when dry or wet, tested under controlled conditions.
LDBF is:
✅ A critical parameter for designing safe and reliable mooring systems
✅ The benchmark for selecting mooring ropes
