BAR Technologies Joins INTERCARGO to Advance Wind Propulsion Collaboration

We’re proud to join INTERCARGO as an Associate Member and are looking forward to collaborating with industry leaders to accelerate sustainable innovation in dry cargo shipping.

The WindWings® story so far:
✔️ 2 x 37.5m WindWings® on the Pyxis Ocean Kamsarmax bulk carrier
✔️ 3 x 37.5m WindWings® on the Brands Hatch LR2 tanker
✔️ 4 x 37.5m WindWings® on the Berge Olympus Newcastlemax bulk carrier
✔️ Average 1.5 tonnes/day of fuel savings per 37.5m WindWing® – nearly 5t of CO2!
✔️ 30% emissions reduction projected for Brands Hatch
✔️ Zero-emission thrust with fully automated operation
✔️ Two more LR2s have already been ordered for 2027, launching well ahead of IMO 2030 targets
✔️ First newbuilds with 24m WindWings® to be announced soon…

INTERCARGO‘s technical committee provides a powerful forum for aligning proven technology with practical regulations. We’re here to contribute data, insights and readiness, not just ideas.
Our existing installations onto two large bulk carriers and a tanker are just the beginning. With more vessels in the pipeline, we’re not just imagining a greener future, we’re building it.
“This partnership is about momentum. It’s how ambition becomes action — and wind becomes standard.” Highlights John Cooper, our CEO.
Join us as we shape the future of shipping, powered by wind, driven by innovation.
