DNV: What were the key outcomes of the IMO Maritime Safety Committee (MSC 110)?

From 18 to 27 June 2025, the 110th session of the IMO MSC delivered several important developments to enhance maritime safety and support decarbonization efforts:

✔️ Adoption of SOLAS amendments to improve safety for pilot transfer arrangements
✔️ Significant progress on the new non-mandatory Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) Code
✔️ Conclusion of a regulatory review on safety barriers for alternative fuels and new technologies – with action initiated to address them
